County Tipperary at its highest
Galtymore is Tipperary's highest ground and shares its county-top entry with Limerick. Discover Ireland describes the Galtees as Ireland's highest inland mountain range, with a wider landscape of corrie lakes, forest trails and open slopes. The county summit is a distinct objective within that range. Choose it deliberately rather than assuming a scenic Galtee walk or a visit to a lake completes the high-point record for either county.
Before you go
Plan your visit
Decide on a particular approach before using regional Galtee information. Discover Ireland describes both northern and southern walking areas, while Limerick's King's Yard profile highlights steep, unmarked open-mountain sections for experienced hikers. Use a current map such as Discovery Sheet 74 and check the chosen starting-point arrangements. For a precise two-county record, study the summit boundary as well: High Point Ireland groups the county tops but says their locations are not perfectly coincident.
