County Kildare at its highest
Cupidstown Hill is the high point of County Kildare. Its place in the challenge is a reminder that a county top need not be a major mountain to be worth understanding. This is one of the lower entries on the all-island list, but it still requires a precise destination and an appropriate access plan. High Point Ireland's map references place the research in the Dublin and North Wicklow mapping area rather than the county's better-known flatland image.
Before you go
Plan your visit
Begin with the listed summit position, O006206, and a current map covering your intended approach. High Point Ireland recommends Discovery Sheet 50 and the EastWest Dublin and North Wicklow map. A current operator-maintained summit route or access arrangement was not verified for this profile. Confirm those details locally before travelling, and do not interpret a service track, gate or online map line as permission to cross the land.
